Senior Management Biographies
GRAEME MCRAE
President & CEO, Bioniche Life Sciences Inc.
Founder of both Vetrepharm Animal Health and Bioniche Inc., (the predecessor companies to Bioniche Life Sciences Inc.)
- Born in Australia, Mr. McRae has had a lengthy and diversified career in the pharmaceutical industry, in Australia and Canada.
- In 1971, Mr. McRae joined Pfizer Animal Health in Australia and held various sales and managerial positions. He was transferred to Canada in 1975.
- In 1979, Mr. McRae founded Vetrepharm Animal Health to focus on research and development in animal health, with a keen desire to develop non-antibiotic solutions for animal health problems.
- Bioniche Inc. was founded in 1992 by Mr. McRae to develop Vetrepharm's technologies for human health applications.
- In 1999, all of the McRae-led companies were merged to become Bioniche Life Sciences Inc., the name by which the Company is known today.
- In May 2008, the Board of Directors named Graeme McRae as Chairman, in addition to his role as President & CEO.

CINDY BENNING
Vice-President, Operations, Corporate Quality & Regulatory Affairs
- Holds a Technology Diploma in Biological Sciences from St. Clair College and a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Waterloo.
- Joined Bioniche in 1993 as Quality Control Supervisor.
- Was appointed as Vice-President, Corporate Quality & Regulatory Affairs in December, 2001 with added responsibility for Operations in June 2005.
- Has 21 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, holding various positions in Quality Control and/or Regulatory Affairs.
- Has extensive experience in GMP, cGMP, and Quality Assurance, as well as in Regulatory Affairs for both human and veterinary health products in international regulatory markets.

FRANÇOIS CHARETTE
Senior Vice-President and Chief Medical Officer
- Dr. Charette brings more than 20 years of combined experience in hospital practice and the pharmaceutical industry. Most recently, he was the General Manager and Senior Vice-President of Quintiles Canada Inc., leading its Canadian affiliate since 2003.
- Dr. Charette has also served as Vice-President of Scientific Affairs at Berlex Canada Inc., Director of Professional and Hospital Services at the Centre hospitalier Anna-Laberge, Director of Research at Bristol-Myers Squibb Inc., and Associate Director of Research at Hoechst Canada Inc., after spending 12 years in hospital practice.
- Dr. Charette earned his medical degree at the University of Montréal and his Master of Business Administration degree from Concordia University.

RICK CULBERT
President, Bioniche Food Safety
- Has a diploma from Animal Health Technology from Centralia College of Agricultural Technology; is a graduate of the Advanced Agricultural Leadership Program, University of Guelph.
- Joined Bioniche (then Vetrepharm Inc.) in 1980 as Ontario Regional Manager.
- Held progressively senior roles in the Animal Health division of the Company before being appointed as President of Bioniche Animal Health Canada, Inc. in 2002; was promoted to President, Bioniche Food Safety in July, 2007.
- Is a member of the Canadian Animal Health Institute’s Board of Directors.

LESLIE DUNLOP
Vice President, Corporate Counsel
- Joined Bioniche Life Sciences in November 2001.
- Responsible for all in-house legal counsel including intellectual property, corporate agreements and Corporate Governance.
- Prior to joining Bioniche, Ms. Dunlop held the position of Corporate Counsel and was a member of the senior management team, at The Quaker Oats Company of Canada Limited for 8 years.
- Ms. Dunlop is a graduate of the University of Toronto Law School and has previously practiced law at the firm of Fasken Campbell Godfrey in Toronto.

- Joined the Company as Managing Director of Bioniche Animal Health Asia in 1998 after having worked for 12 years with Boehringer Ingelheim as Sales and Product Manager.
- Served as Managing Director, Bioniche Animal Health Europe from 2005 to 2007.
- Appointed to current role in July, 2007.
- Graduated from the University of Technology, Sydney with a Diploma in Advanced Marketing.

- Has more than 15 years of experience as an equity analyst, industry commentator, investment banker, and corporate advisor in the Canadian life sciences industry.

- Has 7 years experience in both operations and human resources with Farm Credit Canada, most recently as Director of Human Resources.
- Previously served as Human Resources Manager with the Saskatchewan Workers' Compensation Board and Instructor in the Business Division of the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology.
- Graduated with a B.A. from Carelton University and a Certificate in Adult Education from Saint Francis Xavier University.

- A Chartered Accountant with considerable experience in the biopharmaceutical industry.
- Formerly the Director of Finance, Administration, Commercial Agreements and Alliances with DSM Biologics Inc., a multinational pharmaceutical company based in Montreal and the Netherlands.
- Prior to joining Bioniche in 2000, he served as consultant to a number of biotech companies including SignalGene and Bio-Inova Life Sciences International Inc.
- Has a broad and successful track record of international financial management, private and public financing experience and negotiation know-how in the biotech sector.

- Joined Bioniche (then Vetrepharm Inc.) in 1985 as Territory Sales Representative, having worked previously as a Research and Testing Technician in the Racetrack Division of Agriculture Canada.
- Held progressively senior roles in the Animal Health division of the Company before being appointed as President of Bioniche Animal Health USA, Inc. in 1997; was promoted to President, Bioniche Animal Health (global) in July, 2007.
- Graduated from the University of Guelph with a Diploma in Agriculture; has taken numerous management leadership courses during his career.
- Has a longstanding interest in horse racing and sport horses.

DR. NIGEL PHILLIPS
Senior Vice President, Chief Scientific Officer, Bioniche Life Sciences
- Joined Bioniche in 1996
- Has an extensive research background in biochemistry, immunology, immunopharmacology and immunomodulatory drug formulation which stretches over the past 24 years.
- Has directed research programmes at the Strangeways Research Laboratory, Cambridge, the Institut Pasteur de Paris, McGill University, Montreal, the University of Montreal and the Institut Pasteur de Lille.
- In addition to receiving extensive pharmaceutical training and management experience within the pharmaceutical division of Reckitt & Colman, Dr. Phillips received his undergraduate degree at North East London Polytechnic in London, England and his Ph.D. from Queen Elizabeth College, University of London.

DR. DRAGAN ROGAN
Vice-President, Research & Development, Bioniche Animal Health
- Received his Ph.D. in Virology and Cell-Mediated Immunity at the University of Belgrade, Yugoslavia after completing his Masters and Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine.
- Was a University Professor of Microbiology and Immunology in Belgrade before becoming a Visiting Scientist at the Vaccine and Infectious Diseases Organization in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in 1986.
- Obtained his Ph.D. and emigrated to Canada in 1989, when he joined Bioniche Life Sciences Inc. as Senior Scientist.
- Went on to become Scientific Director, then Vice-President of Research & Development for Bioniche Animal Health. He leads a team of talented researchers, with expertise in bacteriology; biochemistry; molecular biology; reproductive physiology; and virology.

- Joined Bioniche in April, 2004
- Previously worked in progressive Corporate Communications positions with hospitals in Kingston and Belleville, Ontario for 18 years.

- Holds B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Animal Science from Purdue University and a Ph.D. from Michigan State University
- Joined Bioniche in 2008 after working as a self-employed consultant assisting select clientele to deal effectively with the forces of change affecting the food and agriculture sector in the U.S.
- Previously worked for the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) as National Program Leader for Animal Science; and the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association as Director of Animal Health, Inspection and Science Policy and Executive Director of Regulatory Affairs.
